What was your inspiration behind styling the Spring/Summer 18′ campaign for Bombay Shirt Company?
GT: The first thought that comes to my mind when one says ‘Summer’ is the sun and the sea. Shuffling through the various prints & fabrics that BSC has to offer this season, I couldn’t resist but visualise the BSC man on a vacation. The wide range that was put together for this season covered all aspects of a perfect wardrobe – formal-wear, leisure-wear & the party poppers. It was in the best fashion to show the BSC man out on a business travel & at the same time on a beach vacation.
On a personal front, I picked this theme to express all different sides of the BSC man getting inspired from the sun, the sand & the sea, with the range that has been well thought out and beautifully crafted with comfortable fabrics.
If you’d to pick your favourite look from this collection, which one would it be & why?
GT: I personally love the floral printed half sleeve shirt with the trendy hipster collar. It’s a very refreshing look if paired with the perfect blue shorts & tan loafers. The entire look screams of the most wonderful summer day to be spent relaxing and breathing by the sea & at the same time can be worn for a casual night out.
Which colours & prints are in trend for men’s fashion this season?
GT: The abstract floral prints are perfect this summer for all the sun downers and beachy vibes! This year, the colours aren’t too loud or in your face and the summer checks are never out of the game. Go for lighter tones of reds, yellows & greens & if your style is minimalistic, try accessorising in those shades.
Which shirts would you recommend from the collection?
GT: Breathable fabrics like linens and cottons are your best friends for the summer as they save you from the scorching heat & keep you cool and comfortable. I would definitely go for the fil-a-fil or crushed linens in green & beige or the khaki brush twill checks when paired with the veracious shorts or chinos.
What is the one style mantra you would advise this season?
GT: Keep it simple. Always and always compliment your attire with a nice shirt as it really adds to your overall personality. Customise your shirt to the T to get the perfect fit & your desired style statement. Never underestimate the power of a perfect pair of shoes as it brings out the best character that you want to portray.
